There are significant legal fees that have been spent to defend the student described on this site, and there will be additional legal fees incurred in the pursuit of justice for the student.

This student’s expedited due process victory has already established case law that will have a major impact on special education students for years to come, yet there is still much work to do. On Friday, April 26, 2013, a notice of claim was filed against the Temecula Valley Unified School District, signaling the intention to sue for damages.

A victory will deal a blow to misguided Zero Tolerance policies, the School to Prison Pipeline, and have far-reaching impact in ending the abuse of special education students by those who should instead be mentoring and defending these defenseless children.
